Thanks goes to this newly married couple from Oklahoma who passed this slow old man on the way to Upper Catawba Falls. Upper Catawba Falls in my opinion is one of the most photogenic and amazing waterfalls in North Carolina. Id say easily top 10 maybe top 5. You have to really want it however as the hike is dirty, and at least for me a bit strenuous. Upper Catawba falls is above Catawba Falls and is a 50 ft waterfall located at 35.601974, -82.247482. You really need to hit it after a good rain to get the water flowing heavy on the left most portion of the rocks. There was just a trickle on the left today but I'm still very happy to have gotten this pic.
