Crabtree Falls mile marker 339.5 is located near Little Switzerland. Its trail is a 2 and half mile trail down semi rocky on just off the Blue Ridge Parkway where McDowell County and Yancey County meet in North Carolina. The waterfall is either 60ft or 70ft depending on your sources and is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in North Carolina. It's width and height combined with the angle of the water cascading down a jagged rock face make it instantly recognizable to anyone who has visited. on this day the water level was a bit low. We hadn't had a good rain in awhile and the creeks were rather low. To get there you have to park at the Crabtree falls campground, and follow the signs. If you want to get up early and shoot the falls before people start arriving it may be a good idea to just camp there.
