Happy Belated Summer Solstice - Moses H. Cone Memorial Park @ Blue Ridge Parkway Milepost 294 in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. I've been lucky enough to catch a sunset here near every summer solstice for the past 4 years. It's not an epic over the top amazing location, but rather a reliable easy to access park on the side of the rd type of place. It's a great way to cap of a wonderful day on the parkway.

Hang out at Price Park, Price Lake, Bass Lake, or shop downtown Blowing Rock during the day, then head 5 minutes down the road to Moses H. Cone park and watch the sunset. No hiking back in the dark with headlamps tripping over tree roots. You can literally park roadside and get this view from the comfort of your own car.
