On the Jetties out on Folly Beach South Carolina my son and I fell in love with the tidal pools that form. We fished from them, took photos, swam near them. Found countless crabs, fish, sea anemone, and algae. The jetties used to be made from wood but awhile ago the city replaced them with large granite stones which they then later covered in cement and small stones. This allows for barnacles to grow. A local said that before they added the concrete mixture nothing would grow.
