Even though it was raining, my wife and I packed a lunch and headed out for the Blue Ridge Parkway to scout out how the autumn colors were progressing. Along the way, we spotted this nice scene next to the turnoff for Courthouse Falls. Colors are much earlier than normal with trees already dropping leaves.
Scenes like this are in abundance around the mountains of North Carolina. We feel so fortunate for having moved here. Almost six years now.
For any locals, you better check out the NC215 from US 64 to north of the Parkway. Colors won't last too many days.

Yeah this is really one of my favorite shots of yours as of recent. Might be because I havent seem call color in awhile. Or maybe just because its so well balanced.
